The collection contains a manuscript extract from "The spell of the Yukon," a typescript of the poem "Comfort" and typed copies with autograph corrections and notes to the printer for eighteen poems, all but one of which were published in "Ballads of a Cheechako." Two letters discuss his first book "Songs of a Sourdough" and enquire about possible citizenship in the Irish Free State as Service is of Irish ancestry and resents having been born in England. He comments on his declining popularity and the American tour of James Stephens. A photograph of Service is included.
